Measurement article structure

Assoc Prof Frank Gaillard and Dr Henry Knipe et al.

Articles about the measurement of certain structures, angles or distances take on a special format.

================================================================

The introduction should briefly mention how the measurement is formed and its utility without specific details.

In many instances, if available, a sense of whether or not this is a commonly used measurement is useful (see usage section).

This section should include technical information on how the measurement is created including modality, projection/reformat/sequence and structure(s). Technical aspects such as common errors or dealing with factors such as rotation that may affect the measured value should also be mentioned.

Primarily, this section should list the normal range of values as well as the threshold for abnormal values and their significance.

Comments on sensitivity, specificity, limitations, applicability and usage should also be included in this section. Comparison with alternative measurements can also be mentioned in this section.

Occasionally included to discuss the origin of an eponym or history of the measurement.
