Pulmonary hypoplasia

Presentation

Chronic cough, respiratory distress.

Patient Data

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
CT

Chest

Hypoplastic right lung is noted with mediastinal herniation towards the right side. 
Hypoplastic right pulmonary artery is also seen.

Case Discussion

Pulmonary hypoplasia is the least severe form of pulmonary agenesis (type III) where there is partial existence of branchial tree with some parts of unilateral pulmonary parenchyma and its vessels.
