Renal angiomyolipoma

Case contributed by Dr Yvette Mellam

Abdominal pain

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

CT of the abdomen and pelvis obtained with intravenous contrast demonstrates multiple renal angiomyolipomas. Two pseudoaneurysms are demonstrated, associated with the large right anterior upper pole angiomyolipoma. These are in the region of a hemorrhage and measure approximately 8 mm and 5 mm in size respectively.

Case Discussion

This is a case of renal angiomyolipomas in the usual patient demographic, which has now been complicated by an acute retroperitoneal hemorrhage.
